Tedford Housing

Warm Thy Neighbor

An Emergency Heating Assistance Service of Tedford Housing for the Greater Brunswick area

Tedford Housing is seeking volunteers to help keep households warm this heating season. Warm Thy Neighbor has been strongly supported by the church community since its establishment in 2005 when established by Sally Smith.

Tedford is seeking volunteers to work a half day or more in Brunswick, typically the same time period each week, or every other week, from mid-November to the end of March. Tedford will train you in the application and heating assistance coordination processes and will have staff available to you during your period of service. Specific tasks include taking phone calls for assistance and screen calling households, meet with applicant households, take applications and review required documentation, contact participating fuel companies and order fuel deliveries, and coordinating with Tedford Housing staff for billing and data recording requirements.

For more information and to receive the volunteer application form, please contact Craig Phillips, craig@tedfordhousing.org, 729-1161 x#102.  Thank you.

June 29 Report on Annual Conference

Call to Prayer:

As we move through this week, try to hold this prayer before you:

his is a special prayer for mercy and justice. Gracious and Compassionate God, as the disciples in the boat who were caught in a storm felt endangered and threatened, they sought rescue. We turn to you seeking rescue for those whose futures are in jeopardy. In our United Methodist family there are 46 pastors and families who are caught in the web of bureaucracy that grants visas to foreign-born clergy to study and then serve in churches. We pray for these families who face deportation and for those who make decisions about granting visas, that they may be influenced by the need that exists for Your work in our midst. Send your Spirit into the hearts of those who have the power to grant justice and mercy. In the name of Christ, Amen.
