Rev. Dr. Ed Poitras:
Although Ed Poitras has the misfortune of being "from away," having been born and raised in Eastern Massachusetts, his forebears were true Mainers. A retired member of the New York Conference of the UMC, Ed and his wife Genell served as Methodist missionaries in Korea for over 30 years. They were evangelists in eastern Korea before Ed taught at the Methodist Theological Seminary in Seoul. Then, after Ed taught for seven years on the faculty of Perkins Seminary in Dallas, Ed and Genell came to Maine in 1997 where they live next door to their daughter, Catherine Breer, and her family in Freeport.

Mary Hill:
As a new Deaconess (commissioned April, 2006), a Certified Lay Speaker, and an Individual Volunteer in Mission, Mary lives to serve. Her deaconess appointment is that of a case manager for adults with Mental Retardation/Autism for DHHS/State of Maine. Mary serves a role of nurture, hospitality, and education, helping others discover their individual ministries and where they "fit in" with UMC Brunswick's mission of love and service. Mary is a proud Grammy, retired teacher, and quite the traveler!
