Rev. Jeffrey J. Hunt:

Rev. Jeff has served as firefighter/chaplain for the Houlton Fire Department and is currently serving the Brunswick Fire Department in that role.  He also enjoys coaching youth sports and coaches football for the Brunswick High School Dragons.  Both of these activities give Jeff the opportunity to serve the greater community to which he is appointed, Brunswick, Maine.

Rev. Jeffrey Hunt was appointed Senior Pastor of UMC Brunswick in July 2005.  Following his work as a student pastor at First United Methodist Church, Westboro, he graduated from Boston University School of Theology in 1996 and was appointed to serve as senior pastor at Houlton United Methodist Church in Houlton, ME.  He and his wife, Patrice, welcomed their first child, Jonah, while serving in Houlton.  After three years in Houlton, it was back to Massachusetts where Jeff served as the Associate Pastor at Sudbury United Methodist Church.  While in Sudbury, Jeff and Patrice welcomed two more sons into their family, Nathaniel and Ethan.  After six years in Sudbury, Jeff was appointed to UMC Brunswick and he and his family began another adventure in Maine on July 1, 2005.  In addition to a new church and home, the Hunts welcomed a daughter to their family in Brunswick.  Lily Kathleen Hunt was born on November 4, 2006.

Rev. Dr. Ed Poitras:

Although Ed Poitras has the misfortune of being "from away," having been born and raised in Eastern Massachusetts, his forebears were true Mainers.  A retired member of the New York Conference of the UMC, Ed and his wife Genell served as Methodist missionaries in Korea for over 30 years.   They were evangelists in eastern Korea before Ed taught at the Methodist Theological Seminary in Seoul.  Then, after Ed taught for seven years on the faculty of Perkins Seminary in Dallas, Ed and Genell came to Maine in 1997 where they live next door to their daughter, Catherine Breer, and her family in Freeport.

Mary Hill:

As a new Deaconess (commissioned April, 2006), a Certified Lay Speaker, and an Individual Volunteer in Mission, Mary lives to serve.  Her deaconess appointment is that of a case manager for adults with Mental Retardation/Autism for DHHS/State of Maine.  Mary serves a role of nurture, hospitality, and education, helping others discover their individual ministries and where they "fit in" with UMC Brunswick's mission of love and service.  Mary is a proud Grammy, retired teacher, and quite the traveler!
